We've been staying with my parents all week, and it has been a nice break from the busy month we've had at home. It's been busy here, too, but a much more relaxing form of busy! It's been fun visiting with family and friends back home, and I can't believe how fast time has gone!
We opened presents on Christmas Eve, and Toby sure got spoiled this year! From us, he got a Tonka truck and a John Deere tractor--we found the durable metal ones, so they should last a long time! He also got some train stuff, even a train named Toby from the Thomas & Friends company, in addition to a pinball game, some markers, a cute sweatsuit, and an adorable animal book my mom made on her embroidery machine. Bottom line: he really raked it in this year! Good thing he's still young enough that he won't be expecting all this next year!
My belly keeps growing bigger and bigger (see our family Christmas Eve picture below). A couple of people have teased me about having twins or triplets, and I have to admit, I am starting to wonder myself!!!
After 30 years as a UPS driver, my dad retired on Christmas Eve. He worked late, but took his "lunch" break at 8:30 p.m. and was there to open presents with us. Then we all headed to UPS to take some pictures by his truck. Notice his huge grin on the last picture below--you can tell he's excited to retire! He has had a wonderful 30 years with the company, and is looking forward to having more time at home with Mom and being able to visit all his grandkids more often!
Merry Christmas! I have posted our Christmas letter to Facebook, so check it out if you're on there. Stay safe and warm this winter, and if I don't get a chance to post before next Thursday, then Happy New Year!
